William D. Ware, age 61, of Warsaw, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013, at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. He was born on December 31, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Charles and Lillian Abernathy Ware.
He grew up in Cedar Rapids and graduated from Kennedy High School in 1970. On January 26, 1971, he enlisted into the United States Air Force and served during Vietnam and Desert Storm. After 23 and a half years he retired as a Master Sergeant on February 28, 1994.
On September 4, 1993, he was united in marriage to Sandy Bradley at Whitman Air Force Base in Knob Noster. They had made their home in Warsaw since 1996.
Bill was employed at the Lincoln Nursing Home for the past 15 years and considered the staff and residents his family. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy, of the home, three children, Chad Ware and wife, Kate, of Walker, Iowa, Wendy Buzzanga, and husband, Keith, of Knob Noster, MO and Sherry Perrin, and husband, Paul, of St. Louis, MO, nine grandchildren, Emma, Ellie and Elise Ware, Macy, Olyvia and Jenna Buzzanga and Sarah, Michael and James Perrin, a sister, Penny Serbousek and husband, Bill, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, January 18, 2013, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Warsaw, MO, with Fr. Mike Murphy officiating. Graveside services and military rites will be held at 12:30 P.M., Friday, at Highland Sacred Gardens in Sedalia, MO.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. with a vigil service of the church followed by Rosary beginning at 7:30 P.M. all at the Davis-Miller Funeral Home, Lincoln, MO.
