Kathy Ware was born June 13, 1920 in Castle Rock, Washington to John and Phronia Merry Cox. She married John Ware in Springfield on May 11, 1946. He died Dec. 10, 1994. Elmira Oregon – A funeral will be held Dec. 14, 2001 for Kathy Ware of Elmira, formerly of Walton, who died Dec. 8 of a brain aneurysm. She was 81. Ware lived in Walton from 1946 until 1991, when she moved to Elmira. She attended Lane Community College. Ware enjoyed quilting, embroidery, traveling and reading. Survivors include five daughters, Barbara Gilman of Cottage Grove, Wanda Bennet of Pomeroy, Washington, Pat Dillon of Elmira, Joan Vedder of Fairbanks and Helen Ware of Portland; a son, Jerol of Lorane; a brother, Raymond Cox of Grants Pass, a sister Adeane Isenhower of Modesto, California; 17 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren. A son Edward McCarthy, and a great-great grandson, Kody Shalks both died previously. Friday’s service will be at 10:30 am at the Elmira Grange Poole – Larson Funeral Home in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.
