Preston Ware Jr. Obituary, 2014

STERLING – Preston Ware Jr., 86, of Sterling, previously of Holden, passed away on June 13 after a period of gradual decline in health this past year.

Mr. Ware was the husband of the late Carolyn Mae (Hyldburg) Ware, whom he met while she worked as a nurse at Mount Auburn Hospital in Watertown in the 1950s.

He spent his early life in Arlington and Manomet, where he became an avid golfer and member at Plymouth Country Club in the 1940s and 1950s. He served in the U.S. army occupation force in Germany after World War II.

Mr. Ware graduated from Bowdoin College and Boston University School of Law. In his professional life, he worked in leasing and finance for a variety of New England-based firms and as an independent leasing broker. In his spare time, he was a lifelong enthusiastic golfer and fan of the game. He also loved playing tennis, hunting birds in the rivers and seacoast of New England, and playing bridge with Carolyn.

He leaves his sons, Bruce A. Ware of Oakham, Preston (Peter) Ware III of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Andrew T. Ware of Sudbury; daughter-in-law, Lisa Huntington of Oakham; and grandchildren, Sarah Ware, Samuel Ware and Nathan Ware.

He was also the grandfather of the late Alexander Ware.
